Topic: Hello from Cincinnati - New guy here and a question

Hello, I'm Bruce and am done lurking in the shadows and am jumping into the SOHC pool!

I currently have a 97 VFR 750 for my 'nice' bike, a slightly modified '79 Yamaha Daytona special 2-stroke when the urge hits to make some noise and fog mosquitoes.

I am looking for a CB550 for a cafe project, I have good general mechanical knowledge (replaced the motor in my Miata and jetted the carbs on a 2 stroke), but nothing in the way of metal of fabricating skills. The work I see on here is awesome and has been an inspiration for my build. I am still looking for a good 550 to start with. It seems they are either very rough or too far away. Now that I have ben searching for a while I am gettign a better idea of the market. This spring should be good to me!

Question - Has anyone (Ohio especially) gotten a title for a bike purchased with a bill of sale? Also, what are the differences in the model years of the 550's that may make on a better candidate? Any help is appreciated.

Welcome. Glad you are out of the shadows.

As for your other question, you might do a search on "title" as it comes up from time to time. Good luck on the project.

Thanks for the welcomes. I have posted a tread about the title also, already done a search as well but will try again. I'm heading to look at a 550 tonight,  wish me luck.

this is a k3 78,,many parts from 750 goes on,,,there is lot more parts avable for 750,,then for 500 and 550,,så think it over,,,i just like the engine on 550 its very nice looking,,and bike easyer to get araund
