What "OTHER" uses have you seen for Honda engines ??
« on: January 03, 2010, 08:36:28 PM »
There is a member on here that got a 750 motor, that was in a compressor. IIRC that 750 ran the compressor for around 5 years.
After he was done with it the roofer ended up dealing it off to someone on here.. A running K0, plus the frame it came out of.. :o

I keep telling that guy he should get it registered...

the first 750 motor i ever saw was on an irrigation pump at a Culbro nursery in connecticut, where by middle brother worked. i'll see if i can find and scan the 30 year old pics.

When I used to go to the dunes and take the quads out, there was a guy who made a little dune buggy. Had a 750 motor and would tear the $#!T out of it all day long. Everyone said he is going to blow the motor if he keeps redlining it.

Three years later it was still going good. Havn't been out there in a couple years, but I'm sure it's still running strong  :D

I remember back in the 80's someone in western Mass had a log splitter powered by a 350 twin with a cooling fan, a huge air filter box and a pair of large mufflers, ran strong and quiet.

I knew a guy (about 30 years ago) who mounted a 350 twin on a go cart. He mounted a large headlight on it and used to go out on the back roads at night. He never got caught that I know of!

Several........a 305 twin without a tranny was sold by HONDA in the '60s for pump and generator applications.........a replacement motor with electric start in a Cushman golf-cart............a motorized recliner on wheels............midget race-cars........a tow-rope on a ski-hill.  I use my spare motors as building blocks.  I stack them with shelving planks to hold other parts.

Still looking for that 500 or 550 engine mounted in a Lambretta. Or was it a 350? Can't find it anymore. Anyone?

That takes redneck to an entirely new level.  That fact that he keeps running / being dragged by it cracks me up.

I forgot about this one,

Years ago I had a 450 DOHC motor and some parts. After lifting it a few times and realizing, how heavy it was , compared to a 350 twin, I did not plan on using it.

A kid I knew was building a high school project, a 4WD buggy, and needed a motor. I sold it to him and they built it! It ran and worked good from what I heard, but I never did get to see it..

I don't have the pic's right now but I put a 750 motor to a wheel chair years ago. It ran but bent up the spokes BAD and I pulled the motor and put it back in the 74 750.    Head

the mostly stock motor in my k4 750 is going to go into a shifter kart once i build the big motor. 60hp or so in a kart should be fun.

that's what i'm talking about!!

i wanna build a chromoly frame myself, but that's quite a bit of engineering that goes into it, so i'll wait for a cheap frame to pop up on ebay or craigslist.

do you have a frame bucky?
