IMO the off-road version is much cooler. You can buy one now for 16.500 Euro's. (that's for the rear-wheel drive one, the 2WD costs extra :P )

It's a 3 cylinder turbodiesel, runs on vegtableoil as well. The offroadversion makes over 50 hp, and 130 Nm torque. The best part? 95 mpg.

diesel motorcycles are nothing new, just go to india and throw a stone - you are bound to hit one of the indian royal enfield bullet diesels.

I'm pretty sure the US army has a bunch of Kawasaki KLX enduros converted to diesel power.

Diesel sportbikes that can perform however - that might be something new. A 10 second 1/4 mile and 100+ mpg is somtheing I would love to see.

Although the internal combustion engine is almost in it's well-deserved grave, here is a hickup the Germans came up with: a vibrationfree dual crankshaft two-cilinder diesel engine.

Not only does the Neander produce very low if not zero vibs but puts out over 100hp and  over 200 ft lbs of torque.
