1990 Kawasaki Zephyr 550
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:32:20 PM »
I picked up this Kawasaki over the weekend.  Taking a chance, the bike didn't come with a key and hasn't been run in three months according to the former owner.

While looking at the Zephyr I noticed fluid on the front wheel.  Asked the owner about it, he didn't know where it came from.  More inspection and I realized both fork seals are leaking.  While talking with him I realized is does not work on bikes at all and decided he's honest about the bike "running great" before his keys were stolen.  Took the ignition to a locksmith today, waiting for a new key.

I think the bike looks pretty nice.   A friend living on the Big Island has been looking for old Kawasaki's like a KZ1000 or GPZ750.  They are nearly non-existent in Hawaii.  Don't ask me where they all went, I don't know.
