Can't get case apart

I'm trying to split the cases on my 76 CB750F and I'm having a tough time and looking for some advice.

I've got everything off that needs to be, I think. Cylinder, countershaft holder, shifty/neutral bits, points, clutch (not the holder), stator, all the bolts, ect.

Here's the hitch: I can get the stator side apart easily, but it's hanging up around the back side of the points area. It will come apart a few mm but no more. Is the seal around the points shaft holding me in place?

It almost seems like there is something soft/flexible creating the problem, rather than something solid . Like it would go if I forced it, but I don't wanna do that.

MF,

Could there be a bolt hiding somewhere?  Count the bolts in your parts bucket and compare it to a parts fiche to see if all bolts are accounted for.

I don't think it would come so far apart it still had a fastener in. I can open the stator side at least an inch.

Could be hanging up on one of the locator dowels.  There's one just behind the points area.

Failing that, wedge the case open with some popsicle sticks or something and then peer in there with a flashlight.

Well I gott'um open. The seal on the points side of the case was stickin'.

A little pryin' with a old rusty flathead and pop! ;)

Now I gotta start spendin' money.
