COUGARS gone Wild !!
« on: January 05, 2010, 08:46:45 AM »
2 cougar attacks on kids up here, in the last week..

First one, a kid in Boston Bar, had been out in the yard, his dog was acting strangely, following him around. All of a sudden the dog leaped over a lawnmower beside him at the cougar who was ready to pounce, kid ran in the house, got his mom to call police (911) her second call, police was very close, got there within a few minutes.

Cougar had dragged dog under a porch and was chewing on the dogs neck. Cop shot & killed the cougar, when they pulled it & the dog out, he coughs and came to, started rubbing his bleeding head in the snow. Dog will survive, has a lot of wounds.. It was a 18 month old white lab, saved the 11 year old kids life.

The other a kid was sledding by his school, and the cat jumped him, he was screaming and his mom heard him, and managed to wrestle the cougar off, the 7th grade boy survived, although he got quite a few stiches,, lucky to say the least.

Cats are behaving a bit funny, those are not the only attacks up here..

I read about one of the attacks yesterday.  It sounds like the cat numbers are on the rebound in the northwest.  Oregon had a few similar stories a few years back.
I farted and made my son cry.

This cougar that was fighting with the dog was 2 yrs old, probably the size of a large dog, but lighter.
The really big ones get up to about 1.7meters long, without the tail..  (to answer strynboens question)

search cougar, puma, mountain lion, for pics..

Agreed.  A bunch of sex-crazed middle aged women on the loose are far more frightening than a large, wild cat. :o

In my house, I am the cougar.  The wife is 10 years younger than I.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

By definition, Tipper... no, you're not, cougars don't have 'staches.   ;)
And, you're not on the hunt!  At least your wife hopes so!
Sorry, I just don't want your avatar as my image of a cougar.   :P

Not that I want people getting attacked, but I'm with the cougars and wolves here. People spread further and further into their territory and they keep doing what they do there?

Oregon has a really low history of human deaths from cougar attacks since white settlement, under 3 incidents if I remember right. Generally speaking, they only do this when pushed really hard.

D@mn Straight!

quick, someone sell that idea to Joe Francis!

..and for clarification to our overseas SOHC4'ers, the urban definition of a "Cougar" is an older (middle-aged) single woman who frequents clubs in order to score with much younger men.

Mrblasty's avatar is not the best example.
wtf?   :D
