Kinda off topic, but I used to buy everything from Motorcycle superstore.  Until I saw they were giving out a $20 coupon on orders over $150.  My order was $149.98, and of course I saw this and asked if they could spot me 3 cents to which they said no.  Bad call.
You asked the wrong question.  You should have asked if they could raise the price 3 cents.   ;)  Really bad call on their part... don't people know that customers talk about the good and bad service they get?!

Here in the UK we have to wear crash helmets.
Does crash helmet equate to full face?  What is your definition of crash helmet?

Full face Arai helmets for me.   :)

I do believe in full face helmets....  When I was 16, While driving to work on my 1977 Suzuki GS400, I had a head on collision with a 1974 Ford LTD (turned in front of me on a double yellow line).  The forks crammed into the engine and I went over the hood and banked off of the windshield, thereafter flying like spider man two more car lengths past the impact.  My helmet saved me.

Just got skinned up when I was barrel rolling like a rag doll on impact with the ground.

Bought another bike frame with forks for 90.00 and was back in business.

Stay safe!!

Amen on the full-face. I will only use Arai helments from now on. I've worn dozens of helments in the 40 years I've been riding, but nothing "fits" like my Arai. I am just amazed at how quiet they are and how well they block/eliminate noise. Go to their website and watch their fitting guide and you'll see the difference.

Yes, they are among the most expensive, but as I get older - the value of my head keeps going up (those are strictly my opinions of course :)

Gordon

+1  Always worn Arai helmets, the best fitting helmets i have ever worn. While i was working in a Bike shop in Sydney i got the chance to try every different make helmet on the market at the time and my Arai was the most comfortable and the quietest of the lot..

Also if you ride more then one style of bike the noise level will be different depending on the bike.  My old full face was noisy on Surely, small fairing and windscreen, but quite on my Goldwing with a large fairing and screen.  My modular is the opposite noisy on the wing and quite on the CB550.

i dont really ride off-road,  most of the time i ride my sportster(dont hate), but i will be riding my cb750 more this summer(cafe'd out)....   im not worried about wind noise, i usually ride w/o a lid as the old ones toast, i am not worried much about the sheild distortion.  just needs some more opinions about this helmet. thanks

HJC cl-15.  Polycarbonate, and around $100 bucks.  This is the best fitting helmet I have owned.  It is far more comfortable than the expensive Shoei helmet it replaced.

I would have spent more if I thought it was worth it in terms of safety and comfort, but this helmet is Snell and DOT certified.

Buy it - period.

The Simpsons arn't BSAU (British Standards) legal in the UK...for some reason. But they have passed the 'SNELL' test in the USA, which many people say is as good as if not better than the BSAU test. But many people over here who have streetfightered their bikes ride with them anyway. I remember a friend getting one when they were seen on the 'Starwars' films...they had that sort of 'Predator' look of the original ones.

AS to my use of the term 'crash helmets' or 'smack hats'...

+1 on the Arai Corsair. Well worth the money as my old man says ' you only have one head'.

had a Big smash in the UK being blind-sided and hit the corner of the kerb with the back of my head at 70mph. Helmet was a state but bar a headache and a wrecked bike i walked away. would never buy a cheap helmet, rather eat beans for a month.

Oh and i had a simpson bandit for a bit and they were so bloody noisy i had to get rid of. Looks the dogs nuts tho!   ;)

I looked at the Simpson RX8 - even more wicked design but not being BSAU approved, if you get stopped by the cops they can have you for using an illegal helmet as well....not worth the hassle in the end.
