Front brake pressure switch wires missing
« on: January 06, 2010, 01:41:20 AM »
On my 74 CB750, the wires that are supposed to be attached to the brake light switch at the triple tree are disconnected and no where in sight. Im not sure what the previous owner did, but could somebody please tell me what wires connect to the switch and where I can find them on the bike? My brake light works perfectly with a push of the rear drum brake pedal. Thanks.

if the loom looks more or less intact they may just be cut of flush with where they enter it,have a look and try and unpick the tape, near the front brake switch, you might just have to do a solder join to extend them again.,,or does the whole wiring look like it been tampered with?fingers crossed its easy.,i think your looking for a black and a green with a yellow stripe?

well to be honest, it looks like the po just took the wires off. dont ask me why  ::). I guess I'll poke around and look for the black and green w/ yellow stripe wire.

I think this is probably the case.  That green/yellow traces all the way back to the rear brake switch. This then goes to the tail light.
Keep  looking for it. Its probably cut flush or buried in e-tape.

Worst case you should be able to tap into the green/yellow at the rear brake and run it foreword.

I can't see the PO undoing the whole loom just to remove all traces of it.
