right now I'm thinking about getting a different tank, my forks hit this one and I've scooted it back as far as I can...

maybe a Gus Kuhn tank



 or a gs450/gsx250/gsx400 tank.

the early 80s suzi's had a very pointy tank that would stop my lock to lock issue.




$150 plus $110 -S/H  ...from Singapore.
I think I can get it cheaper from a more local source though.

if your planning on replacing the tank anyway,  you should try forming the fiberglass, like you did to the headlight ... if you #$%* it up , you were gonna replace it anyway .  



   edit: now that i think about it , not sure that would work ... but .. i'm not sure that it wouldn't either

heh yeah,
         it needs a seal job and some large-ish repairs on the petcock area... not to mention there's a zombie girl engraved into the top.

I was gonna use it on an SOHC4 cafe four wheeler project I want to do.

I like it they match the seat and are much better then the ones you had. I like the seat also. You made that one correct? Good work.

Wow, I've been seeing a '77 F in the neighborhood that has no front end and thinking I know I could find the parts to make it stock but then the fabricator inside just starts screaming "This is a gift, make it something shocking!". Well thanks to IC and a few others here the seed has been planted. I have always had a thing for the inverted forks and now I know I can make it happen.

That is some great work and a great thread about it also, I am set to be notified. I'm not sure what to do about the wheels though because I want to stick with rear disks but all in due time.

I'm interested to see how the gauges turn out.

you could always make rotor spacers/adapters for the stock F wheel.

To take a step back a couple pages. How awful would it be to just skip the front fender all together?

On another note I picked up a 91 gsxr fork and clipons with a lever/mc, caliper and rotor from a 98? 'busa for $240. I cleaned up the lower tree and had it powdercoated with black wrinkle. I am having a friend make a plug insert to stretch the steer tube to length as we speak and soon it will be ready for a wheel. Thanks for the inspiration.

Anyways I am considering running w/o a fender, I like the look.

you can run without a fender if you want to.
   for me I don't like getting hit in the face with fine gravel at around 35mph or messing up my engines paint job.

If you are interested in having your front end handle well then the front guard has a fork brace built in, not only will it flex and twist more without it, you will NEVER ride it in the rain or on any dirt, it also trashes {sandblasts} your engine.

It seems that upside down forked bikes have no fork braces, they are supposed to be a lot stronger than conventional forks. I was just reading that in extreme circumstances, upside down forks only fault is twist...and apparently this only happens on certain bikes...
