Nice find Midnight!!

The length from the center of the axle to the top of the upper tree is roughly 28.5 inches. +/- a half inch from the stock CB750 forks.

I had the damper rod and sliders lengthened 50mm so i had some adjustment with length on my GSXR 1100forks, mine aren't upside down ones..

I was worried a bit because if you look at your stock upper tree, it has about a 1'' drop to it.
I guess that means my bike is lowered some.

I'll have a look Brian,if i can't find some i will take some new pics, its easy to see the extensions as i haven't had them hard chromed yet. There's not been much progress on mine of late, apart from being busy i only have a small space to work and i am still sourcing parts from overseas, which involves watching exchange rates closely..

I am not too sure what mine will end up riding at, but the 929rr and 954rr have about the same amount of drop in them as the stock upper triple. but I measured out my stock fork lengths and they are the exact same as the 1000rr from middle of the axle to the top of the triple. (this is because i have my front end lowered about 1-1.5 inches.) so i guess we will see how low the front end really is after i get the 1000rr on there.

Are you using the stock GSXR clip-ons and controls?

EDIT: it looks like you have the stock CB throttle/right hand controls on there. are you going to have enough room for the GSXR master cylinder?

there's not much room on the clipons. So I'm going to put the old GSXR stem in a lathe and make 2.5'' extensions to fit into the end of the bars.
They're really narrow, around 24 inches.
I want them to be more like 29'' wide like my old bars were.

thought about that but, I don't want anything on the bike to be taller than the upper tree.

Hi Brian, i remember in the 80's some of the local superbike guys were using clipons that were bent up so they didn't sit as low down as the "normal" clipons, they were also wider so it made it a bit easier to man handle big 1100 Suzuki's and Honda's and such around the track, they sat like lowered super bike bars..

I had superbike bars when I got my bike and they were too straight for me.
The clipons are sitting higher than my clubmans did. and they don't drop down so sharply either.

I broke my wrists into a million pieces when I was a kid and they were killing me with the old bars.

I did the same thing with my left wrist when i was 17, it has a god awful bend where the wrist meets the hand, so now i only use super bike bars on mine, less pain at the end of a long ride.

GreasyJ, look up the Norman Hyde M bars. They're a lot like your upside down super bars but with more pullback, I think, and less drop. I have them on my 350 and they look like this.

ignore the crappy camphone quality and dirty garage though.

those are cool! they look really wide/long though. I do a lot of lanesplitting so that's always a consideration for me. it's why I don't use bar ends.

Norman Hyde has great stuff.

I wanna get a 350-4 next, for my girlfriend. she has her heart set on one. I kinda like the 350 twins, I use to have one of both. and the 400-4 is my fave in that size range. but Bre digs the 350-4, so were gonna be lookin for one.

ALRIGHT!!!
the Wheel bearings and silicone hose came in today and I put it to work.
headlight brackets mounted, I still have to remove them and polish 'em.
If you want to do this just remember, you have to bend the brackets more than 90 degrees to get them to cooperate.

I like that a lot! What happens if you slide them back toward the triple? Will that flatten that profile out or is there no room?

There's room and if I can I will, but I have to accommodate for the clutch cable....
speaking of, I wonder what I'll do for my tach and speedo cables? they're about 6-8 inches too long now.

edit: I went outside to check and apparently I can route them under the lower tree.
