Gday Brian, did you see what Terry did to mount his front guard?

yeah, I liked his custom fender mount.

but the only way I can mount a fender (that doesn't look like I'm on a dirt bike) is to attach it to the fender mounts on the base.

it's not the most attractive piece on the bike, but it does the trick 'till I can think something else.
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

IC, your bending under fender looks good. I  just feel that if the 2 strips were tied together, like right below fender, it would cut down the vibration. I have seen some very stout brackets break repeatedly on a big stroker.

A few yrs back an old customer got me to make a fender brace for a l-o-n-g wideglide..he was running an FXWG fender, similar profile to yours but narrower and for a 21 incher..Anyway we formed a 3 in x 1/4 aluminum brace, that fit the fender very well.. a bit of work to pull off, and get to look even. He said it helped quite a bit cleaner than a tweakbar..

I wanted to do that, but I can't weld aluminum right now.
as soon as I get a setup, I'll brace it up better.

If you weld it, it looses strength..
If you drill tap and brace it, may work..keep bolt tiny..#8 might do.

Or you run a strip and sandwich it to connect the 2 bars, but excess weight, will probably concentrate vibration in that area.

Mounting, older style fenders  to the USDs is a real chore..

I think I might try to make one out of a single sheet instead of bending little planks.

forgive the crude drawing, I used paintbrush with a track ball.

That would be a good place to mount a fuse box!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

so I did some more grinding on the rotors and the brakes only grab the tiniest bit, enough to live with for now.   I think I can work it out some more, but I'll do that later. I don't have Harley parts for my make-shift grinding jig and it's VERY time consuming without it.

also-
I got the headlight brackets drilled and remounted.
The 1 inch hole takes some filing to get perfectly round because the drill bit is so big and the piece is so thin, it makes a sort-of triangular hole at first.

I ran out of sandpaper so I'll shine em up later.

the headlight bucket needed some modification because the clutch cable was rubbing the paint off it,  so I heated it up with torch and rolled it on a 1 inch rod to get a curved shape in it.

A little paint matching and the lines aren't all cramped up in there anymore.
(I put some protective stickers on there)

oh, and I made the wiring hole a lot bigger.

Still wanna graft my old lever onto the new master cylinder. but that can wait.

Hey Bri, what size is that rear tire? Front turned out great!

You magnificent bastard  ;D

That profile is the poop. Compact and low. I was thinking of getting something with a loop to glue on to stop the clutch cable from wearing on the headlight bucket. This though... so much better.

thanks people!
I forgot another thing, I need to make the bars wider by 5 inches total.

Hey Bri, what size is that rear tire? Front turned out great!

16x4.25 aluminum akront rim with a 130/90/16.
I don't like it anymore, after I put it on it didn't look like I thought it would.
I wanna go to a bigger wheel, either 17x4 or 18x3.5 with a lower profile 130 or 140 tire

sooo..... im going to come down to your place and take your bike for a spin...... just giving you a heads up.
OK ;D
