Question on Ducktail seat replacement covers
« on: January 08, 2010, 10:48:32 AM »
Hi!
Has anyone used this cover, and how did it look for you?  http://cgi.ebay.ca/HONDA-CB-750-SEAT-COVER-1969-1970-SAND-CAST-SANDCAST_W0QQitemZ160391250795QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item255810436b
I see the seams are not sewn through but "bonded" I think is the term . I bought  a cover that is sewn through and may not use it now because it's not quite right. This one  http://cgi.ebay.ca/CB750-seat-cover-for-Honda-CB750K-CB-750-K-Duck-tail_W0QQitemZ160360307866QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2556381c9a
Any comments? Thanks, Cliff.

the ones that are sewn tend to split at those sewn lines i understand. i'd go ahead and get the bonded one.

I got the sewn one you quoted and it fit like a glove and looks great. It's been on for a year and no splits yet.

Nearly used the same covers you are looking at but... Johnie and others talked me into the Yamiya foam and seat cover. Comfort was a big issue for me, so it wasn't worth the gamble.
I just refurbished my ducktail few weeks ago, you can see the pictures in my project thread.
