R.I.P. Art Clokey
« on: January 09, 2010, 12:40:06 AM »
the man that created Gumby passed away Friday. I always kind of thought that he had to be at least a little bit of a stoner to come up with Gumby.  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34778153/ns/us_news-life/

My name isnt Gum, it's GUMBY DAMNIT!

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

That's really sad.  I loved Gumby as a child and even as an adult. Davy and Goliath too.  Back in the early 80's I went to a Gumby film festival and Art and his wife were there and after the showing they hung out, answered questions, and signed autographs.  The whole audience joined them in a sing-a-long of the Gumby theme song.  A truly wonderful couple.  RIP Art. :'(

This is the original opening that I remember from the mid sixties when I started watching.
