what tires are you running in your bike? i think i could read bt012 in the rear, not sure.

thanks

TG

Ciao TG

Thats right.
Actually BT012SS on the rear wheel and BT45F on the frontwheel.
Formerly i drove BT012SS on the front wheel too but after a crash in rijeka
by loosing the grip on front i changed to the BT45.

By the way i´m in rijeka between 27. September and 29. September for this Years last
"Grab the Flag" event. Perhaps you could go for a visit, or much better,
you race with us. This would be really funny.

Regards,

Heinz

what size is the bt012ss at the rear? is there a 18" or can you use a 17" in your class?

rijeka is tempting, never raced there. problem is that i dont think i can take more days off work, just back from my holidays.... i'm racing this weekend at magione, so not complaining really :)

Rearwheel tyre is BT012RSS 150/70ZR18. Unfortunately it´s not available in a smaller size. You need a 3.5" wide rim.
Frontwheel tyre is BT012FSS 110/80ZR18 or in my actually case BT45F 110/80-18 58V. Therefor you need a 2.5" wide rim.
BT45´s are in smaller sizes available. The BT´s are not so bad but some of the quickest riders rides on DUNLOP or AVON.
Wheels in 17" are usually not allowed. There are some small exceptions (MAICO).
And for the visit, it´s a great pity that you can´t come.
But nevertheless i wish you good luck for your races.

Heinz

I run race avons AM20/AM23 indeed in much smaller sizes in my 500.
talking about that, I seriously think that you are "over tired", people here use 110 / 150 on 1100cc open class racers weighting 160 kg. + .... I believe that your bike could steer much quicker with a 90/90 front 130 rear.

May think your slow, but people think that bike is pretty good.  Congrats on your BOTM, nice to see a real race bike win.

I'm loving the 500/650 mix you've got here... Shows the real advantages of the 650's engine!!

I came and found this post when I saw our bike nominated for BOTY.

What a think of beauty and an obvious labor not just of love but also tremendous skill, forethought, and patience.

I'm a bit in awe.

Great work and good luck on BOTY.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

you got my vote for BOTY for sure. I love this bike, even if it isn't all bells and whistles... it's got all the right stuff to make it my favorite.

Here is a link for those who stumbled upon this thread
and were now curious about that primary chain tensioner thing.
There they could get some more information.

Thanks for posting the link Heinz.  Your thread, turboguzzi's, and Paulages are my 'route maps' for when I start building the engine for my racer project.
