Take a look at this internetsite ,they claime to have the real Dick Mann CR750

http://www.daytona70.com/English/history.htm

That is the fake as Bob Hansen (team Manager 1970), Bob Jameson (crew chief 1970) and Ron Robbins (mechanic 1970) went to France to verify.

NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Give me a few minutes, got some pic's of it. Saw it at first during the Ducati Weekend at Assen, think it was 2004 or 2005, where I scrutineered it. Nice, clean and well build machine. At that time the engine was almost standard and had the oem brakes on it. This pic is taken a season or two later I suppose. Tank is read-Titan, ask Ricky_Racer here, he can help.

Ricky_Racer's machine was first place I saw it. Been doing research since then. He's working on a fiberglass replica that might be available soon.

I think that tank is sexier than Benjie's stuff and that's saying something cause his kit is mighty sexy  ;D

Mind if I ask how you came by it?

Thanks, Guys...  ;D

Iggy, do you mean this tank?

Irrespective of some prejudicial opinions regarding fiberglass tanks, unlike others this tank is guaranteed against delamination for five years due to a special formula for the fiberglass, as well as to an extreme assembly quality. The same formula has been used in Top Fuel Motorcycles for several years with zero failures, irrespective of the type of fuel (including alcohol) used, and the intense vibration these bikes produce. The shop which produces these tanks is also the developer/manufacturer of the race glass for the Yoshimura Racing Team.

This tank design is an exact copy of the original Read-Titan Daytona tank as manufactured to perfectly fit the CB750 chassis, and is available with two different seat designs. It comes standard with an authentic Enots fuel filler, and can be supplied set up for either a stock CB750 petcock, or for an aftermarket petcock like a Pingle.

PM me if you're in the game.   8)  RR

Pretty, pretty motorcycle. I really like the AP calipers with the late "F" forks and early hub. RR

Yes, if there are any interests on the RT tank and seat combo, please feel free to contact
us for more pics ( RR or me) at info@classiccyclecity.com.

BTW, good to see that the stock discs work with the Lockheed calipers, This, I asked my self for my project with the
drilled stock Eckert discs.
Nice pics at all.

Hey Thomas,

Stock discs work with the CP2696-38EO like in the picture, not with the 'real' classic calipers. These are designed for discs up to 10"(254 m/m). The one in the pic are up to 305 m/m.

Cheers, Rob

This next one is coming from Phil Clark from the UK, a real hero's racer P&M framed, Rob north fairing Soper CB. Ridden by "Yer Maun"on the Isle of Man, think it was '77 or '78.

Guys, I'm flattered to be confused with him, but the real "Rickey Racer" was named Lance Weil. For more info just do a Google search for "Lance Weil Rickey Racer."

Never heard this story before, I do remember him racing a Harley here in the UK in the 60's, as I remember he was hopelessly out paced on the short circuits by the smaller pure race bikes but a fantastic spectacle, he had coloured leathers while just about everyone else had black.

Hi,

Rob, do you have any recommendation for discs to use with a Ceriani, Lockheed and stock hub?

Some pics:
Eckert (not sohc, but nice), Seeley from Denmark, Egli with CR750 design, CB500 and a bike from the Belgian Dholda team.

Hey Thomas,

If you're not into originality then a set of 280 or 300m/m cast iron Brembo disks.
