What do you want to know? Bike is owned bile Michael Hodgson from Atlanta, Georgia area. Has full on M3 Racing engine with Nova close ratio gear box Runs very well and with alloy swingarm, bigger front forks and wider modern rims and tyres flys at AHRMA events.

KOS

Is that swingarm from a production bike, or is it a custom unit?

Have found this on german web.
I have seen this thing a few years ago lifely at a motorshow in Dortmund. I talked some small words with the exhibitor/owner. Engine is from a CB500 and has 500ccm. The frame based on a stock twostroker from YAMAHA.
I think it was an aircooled RD. Wheels are magnesium PVM´s. Front calipers some Lockheed´s.
If i remember right he proclaimed a weight less than 140kg /309lbs.
But in my opinion the clutch is the part of interest. The cover is billet made. Clutch basket should be from the CB500. I have heard from another german who raced a CB500 in the days. His name is/was Walter Baumgart(en?).
He built also an dry clutch for the CB500. And by a friend of mine i have sawn a casted cover for a dry clutch.
Unfortunately he sold this item :'(. I could kill him for that  ;).

Regards,

A few more pics of the Honda at Chimay in July 2010

Hi Colin , still alive.

We had gear troubles in Dahlemer Binz last weekend , see my thread.
Two races at saturday.
Frank was also there finishing 5th and 6th.
Gerard 6th and 5th.
We didn't finish in the first race because of the gear problems and didn't start in the second race.

Best regards René

Hoi René

Unfortunately i had not made my own photos at the mentoined motorshow.
I think the show was in February or March 2006. I´m really sorry about this.
The casted clutch cover was bought by this friend with a bunch of used parts,
spares and so on several years ago and some years later he sold this item with
some other parts. This bloke don´t rang me up ??? >:(. I hate him for that ;).

Regards,

Heinz

I know where the clutchplate is, by my racefriend .
I send him the pictures of the Honda with the dry clutch and he phoned me today.
He bought a complete Honda racer three years ago in Germany with some parts including that plate.
This Honda was blue when he bought it ,same color as the dry clutch bike , he left it so.
I will get some pictures of the plate.
But the cover is not ready to fit it is only the billet plate , there is some work to do on it.

Thanks, Howell.  What a great comparison between the sound of a 4/4 and a 4/1. I know which one I like!   ;D  RR

+1 on the HB1 Sam, i wish someone would replicate that frame...MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Mick
Does anyone in the community have one of the airtech (HB-1) style tanks. I need a paper template(trace) of the bottom shape of the tank. Just as it would sit on a flat surface. I don't wish to buy one from glass, as I plan to make it from alloy!

RR,
Were you ever able to get those beautiful 4/4 pipes in production? How much is the Read Titan tank as I might use one for a seperate project?

HB, the curved megs are still not in production; only prototypes have been built. I'm currently looking into the possibly of producing them in the US utilizing a die stamping process rather than the one at a time handbending that has been done. It'd be great to be able to offer them at as affordable a price as possible, without compromising the quality. As usual, tooling cost amortization becomes the deciding factor.

PM or call me for prices on the Read-Titan or Bimota tanks. The pricing depends on the accessory options you choose.  Like our Giuliari-style seats, each tank is accessorized to your specs.  RR

So, you can use the stock clutch in a dry configuration if you come up with the right combination of plates and plumbing to keep it out of the oil?

VERY interesting...

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
