I.D. Gauges? (said to be from CB550)
« on: January 11, 2010, 05:03:27 PM »
Im posting this for my brother. He just picked up a tach and speedo off of a CB550? (so the seller said), for his project bike.  They look smaller than the gauges on my CB500. They measure 3 1/4" accross from top edge to edge in width. Below are a couple pics. Can anybody I.D. these? Thanks. :)

They look like the gauges from my 1971 CB500.

I bought a CB550 tach off of ebay, thinking it would swap with the ones on my 500. The gauge I got was bigger, and has a different style mount on the back. Serves me right for not doing my research.

Want to trade?  ;D

Hmmm, the gauges on my CB500 are not stock. They are "K&L". They are the same size as my 750's gauges. Maybe the ones I have are stock CB500 Gauges? I guess I need somebody with a stock CB500 to measure their gauges. Oh and I dont think he's letting go of these ones, haha.  ;)

Those look like US model CB500K1 to me with the full chrome back and angled cable fitting
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Definitely NOT 500 'cause redzone starts at 9250 rpm for the 500.
350 or 400 maybe?
