how hard is it to make a decent stereo speaker? i know i could build something for considerably less than buying one. not thati'll ever start this project, i'm not allowed to use woodworking tools anymore LOL

I made these reading how to build speakers from radio shack.
I made these in 87 and have put them through the test.
Klipsch concept.
running the NAD 2200 power envelope and 1155 pre amp.

You guys with all the "new" stuff! I'm still using my Sansui 999 series amp and tuner, JBL 100's and Akai GXC 38D cassette deck from 1971. Had the amp rebuilt once. The kids say it still sounds great. Man, I'm really stuck in the '70's.

pics of the new toys. i'm loving having a turntable again. those recordings of Billie Holiday from the 30's sounds so much better on vinyl. Craigslist has worked for me once again!

oh, thats not where it is now, i just set the stuff on top of the satelite box and dvd player till i could make room in my office/music room/computer room/hobby room (except for the gun shooting hobby of course LOL) i have a shelf unit just for the stereo equipment, and this house is pretty old and really solidly built. no gypsum board drywall here. or 2x4 studs for that matter. 2x6" studs and really thick plaster.

man, does Billie Holidays' Lady Day sound SO much better with vinyl than on CD. it just has that "warmth" that you just cannot get with a compact disc. and Robert Johnson's recordings from the 30's like Stop Breakin Down Blues. i feel like a little kid with a nice, shiny new tricycle  ;D i dont ever remember being so excited about getting electronics EVER.
