Topic: How do I stop getting updates from old posts?

I have tried everything to do this. When I respond to a post and don't want any part of it from that point forward, how do I stop getting the new replies on that post?

If I'm understanding correctly, I think the only thing you can do is mark it (box to the right) and click it as read. I don't know of any way to selectively eliminate a thread from the unread list when you log in. Maybe one of the other mods had a better solution.

I think I figured it out. You have to go to your profile and unsubscribe to all of the posts you may have responded to in the past. I 'll let you know if it worked.

Nope. didn't work. Unless there is some kind of delay in the process.

There is an "Ignore Topic" mod for the Simple Machines Forum software used here, but only for version 2.0 and later.  We have SMF 1.1.11 here.
