Well I've been making some progress. I actually got some parts of the engine painted. It's looking good. I am happy with the way the paint looks. I used VHT red and black for the heads and valve covers. The engine is ready to paint and will be Duplicolor silver engine paint. Before the engine goes back together I'm still waiting for the piston rings to come from Babbitts onlne, three weeks already. I'm about ready to cancel the order. Lucky for them I'm on vacation next week and won't need them anyway.
While trying to clean the fins I came up with this idea. It got these small round brushes and put them in my drill. Worked like a charm!
I stripped the front caliper and was cleaning it out. The piston is pretty badly pitted. I'm thinking that I need to get a new one, but they are $92 at Bikebandit.
