there ya go there! as long as you've 35mm forks, these will fit. make sure to use single rate springs with these. or you could call race tech and talk to someone for some free advice. they really know their stuff!!

you can get some progressive shocks for a couple hundo, and those will really make the ride better.

so even the progressive shocks are a big upgrade over stock? I wasn't sure about that that's why I asked, you can find progressive shocks just about anywhere.

hell anything will be a big upgrade over stock! think about it, your stock shocks are what, 30 years old at least?? and they're non-rebuildable, so they're just sticky and crappy, plus they weren't that great from the start! i've found progressives awhile back for like $200 or so, and i mean, they're new, look good and people on here have used them with good reviews. the main thing with you being on a budget is keeping it cheap. you probably won't notice a huge difference between a pair of IKON's and progressives, so why spend the extra money?

I'm looking to copy your electrical tray location under the seat. What metal did you use to fab up the tray? I just picked up remnant sheets of 14 and 16ga mild steel. Did you end up going steel and, if so, did you weld the tray to the bike? If not, how did you secure it? Lemme know.

Its aluminum it is easier to form and no rust issues not to mention weight. It actually just sits in there but the seat ends up holding it down. Since the seat bolts down there is no problem with it not flying around. The nice thing to is I only had to change the wiring to the battery everything else stretched or fit fine.

So I believe the vibration I have been chasing is from a sloppy swing arm, seems I missed getting the plastic washer in there, now no more play but I won't be able to confirm until later when I ride it again.

I used Progressive fork springs ($80) and Progressive rear shocks/springs (13") ($258) on my CB500 and couldn't believe the difference they made! Really compliant and actually functional now. A fork brace, steering damper and bronze swing arm bushings should give you an excellent handling and stable, at the ton, bike.

Mary Jane aside, that is certainly the issue we all have to accept with our CB builds: We're never gonna get back what we put in them, much less what they're worth (to us.)

Thats true with almost all vehicles though custom or not.

Although on my build I am sure I could get more then the money have in it if I sold it, the time I have in it is another matter all together.

my oem gasket kit came, paid $25 for it and it came with everything needed to redo the top end! As soon as I get time I am going to fix my leaking head gasket.

off of ebay, I was wrong about them being oem though, they are manufactured by Britton Supply but they
are made in Japan. All the gaskets seem to be of really good quality. I think the seller just had this laying around not being used.
