there is actually a lighter duty version of this combo machine for pretty reasonable price at around $1200. If I was going to put one in my own garage and didn't want to wait to save for the larger one that's the one I would pick.

Well, just to let you all know...

Its official I am starting my own cafe racer company, called "Little Horse Cycles." Like everything it starts small. I plan to just continue what I have been doing with a touch more professional online exposure. I plan on having a few T-shirt designs for my logo soon for sale to generate a little buzz. If you want to further support me in this quest feel free to go to my company facebook page and "like" the page. Thanks.

So I did more work on Little D today, I mounted a undertail to provide safe haven for the electrics, made the end for the shifter arm, and began work on the brake pedal but I didn't like the way it turned out so I will probably scrap it and come up with something more interesting. I mounted the temp gauge and am very pleased with that Also I am so close to being ready for paint and powder coating I can almost taste it. Tear down is imminent.

Sorry no pics, I will try and get them up sunday along with hopefully more progress. On the list:

Headlight brackets
Fork brace
Modify front fender
Tear down

Yep, I still have some milling to do to it for lightening and mounting and tightening but the shape is done. So the top section is so the rubber dust cover still goes on the forks.

Been working on a blank for a future alloy tank. I probably will make a few of these to sell as a set with a cowl just like the one on the cb500. This is how life starts for a tank, a foam negative.

Isn't that a positive?

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

All the body work is at the painters, the frame is almost torn down too and the engine is ready for cleaning and paint.

Does anyone have any advice for engine cleanup and any kind of paint they can advise me on? Last time I was not 100% happy with how the engine paint turned out after some use and I was looking for alternatives. Thanks.

People swear by POR-15 engine enamel.  It's supposed to be extremely tough.

I have heard that is awesome as well.

I used this,
http://www.net4sale.com/Shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=145

I love it, not only has it held up, it has not cracked, peeled or discolard at all. One can is more then enough for one motor.

the por 15 looks like it would work really well but I would have to spend more money on a spray gun.

Scott do you know if the alvin products stuff has a silver or aluminum option? I like the color you linked but since the bike is going to be painted a similar color I dont want people to think I intended it to match.

Oh the choices.

You can get a serviceable spray gun for $50.  Very worthwhile investment.

With that said, there are POR-15 formulations that you can apply with a brush.
