It was really neat following you on su Caballito in those tight turns.  it was like watching poetry in motion.  Looking forward to seeing this CX pan out the same way. :D

Yeah I had a blast getting to ride Caballito (Little Horse) when it died on my I was afraid that was going to be the end of my day, but she pulled though. Now I have a gas leak from the petcock to remedy, and then I can continue with the shake down stuff. You and Mickey x take off early?

Just my .02....

A CB750F tank and the seat frame section coming back straight instead of an upward angle, would look much cleaner.

Just a thought.

~Joe

That would be a good idea if I wanted to keep it more cafe looking, but I changed my mind so now it will look more like a sport bike rear grafted into a more vintage front. A frankenstein type switch that some may not like. It is all good though I like to be different. It will be strange for sure. Little Horse vs the cx: beauty and the Beast if you will.

I'm diggin' what you've done to clean up the rear end.  Also anxious to see how the monoshock works out. I like how you incorporated Little Horse's dummy lights idea in to the CX's triple tree - very clean.

Have you decided whether or not you'll continue the cowl's carbon fiber forward on the bike?  I'm still rooting for carbon fiber in the knee dents!

yeah carbon is still go, for now, I may change my mind but today I like it.

yeah, we split when the gang headed up rocky road.  Our rule- when the cops show up, the party's over. :D    We headed down rr and skyline but didn't see anyone after that so we took skyline home anyway.

yeah I didn't see the police, we waited at Skyline and Mcnamee for a little while for the rest of the group. Then we went to the Skyline Tavern. We must have had perfect timing to miss you guys. Only one person said they got a ticket. It was for not having an Oregon License. Who else got pulled over? Not you two I hope?

nooo.  I was happy about having the headset though.  MX said "Cop behind us" and I cut my speed down to five over the limit... the county mountie was riding her butt until he passed her and charged up to the group...   There was a state trooper in the oncoming lane and he did a u-turn in the middle of 30 to follow the group, and that was when you all headed up Rocky rd.  we thought "oh #$%*." and stayed way back, in case the #$%* hit the fan... but the cty cop kept going, and only the state trooper pulled someone over.   he was right behind you guys as you left 30.  I didn't know who it was who got the ticket but we passed by them and didn't see anyone waiting for them, so we kept going too.

that's good you guys stayed clear of it. Still for as many of us as there where we got by with no real incidents. No crashes or drops or speeding tickets... oh and for good measure I was "two tired" to ride any further lol...

I think you guys just pointed out why I almost never ride in a group of more than four.  After that, the probability of cops seems so go up exponentially.

Try riding with a couple of hundred other bikes, the Xmas toy runs around NZ are legend. ;D
But we get the cops to escort us so we get straight runs at round-abouts and go through red lights under their direction. :)
Staggered riding is something many have to learn, it's something we picked up as teenagers kinda naturally but some new to riding need a bit of instruction.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

There is a reason I said "almost."  ;D

In 2000, I did the Pony Express Round-Up raising money for the Susan G Komen Foundation.  Rode from NH down to MO and back up.  Similar deal with the cops when we were in the major cities.  But hey, now that I think about it, it kind proves my point about the likelihood of cops showing up... ;)

How in the world can you get a ticket for "no Oregon license"......people travel from state to state all the time!

If that is the case....any tourism you have will be gone quickly!

It wasn't for an out of state DL, it was for having out of state plates.

Well, that goes with the above....people travel state to state with their vehicles.

\I say this having totally been pulled over several times for driving with a shaved head and NY plates in the deep South.  Is this a similar thing?

So, if I am on a trip, and I want to pass through Oregon, I have to stop at the DMV and get plates?

You should fight that ticket.  "Interstate Commerce clasue" or something to that effect.

Similar in that in most states it's illegal to have your vehicle registered outside of the state that issued your DL.

There's nothing shady about a cop pulling over a vehicle with out of state plates to make sure everything is on the up & up.

It's a fixit ticket anyway; all he as to do is register it in Oregon and the ticket goes away.

Well, yeah.  Obviously you'd have some extenuating circumstances.

How about we let Andrew's thread continue with it's regularly scheduled programming now?

If you reside in the state of oregon for more than 30 days, you are required to obtain an oregon driver's license. If you are a permanent resident of another state but working or going to school temporarily in OR, they make an exception.

No that I feel safe about coming out after that serious hijacking  :o... here is what I got

well after a bit of trial and error I have found a spot for the shock that gets be about an 1 1/2 in of sag. With me, and a bike without any fluids. So I am hoping that the fluids make up the difference in weight between my sister and I pretty close. Pre load is on the lowest setting so if you are lighter then 120 lbs soaking wet too bad for you . Also if you are heavier, and most of us are there is some wiggle room then. Thats all I have for today because this thing was distracting me.
