It really is awesome.  Your sis should be delighted with it and you should be proud.  I'm enjoying watching all of your builds on FB and here and I hope that you go very far.

With that said, I feel like a dick for bringing this up but I do have one suggestion for the CX.  It would take very little time and energy for someone of your skill to close that gap at the bottom of the trim piece around the taillight.  Just pop it off, give it a little more bend/curve, and pop it back on.

It's such a dumb little nitpick, I told myself like 5 times that I wasn't gonna mention it, but when I see that otherwise awesome pic that's the only flaw that I see, and it kind of jumps out at me.  You've done such great work that I figured a friendly pointer wouldn't be out of place.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

No you are right I have been meaning to get around to that. There are a few other niggles to adjust but those almost never go away there is always something. Still it feels good to know its basically done, and my sister is coming to take it home to Seattle this weekend.

Thanks for taking the comment in the spirit in which it was offered.

Yeah, there is always one thing or another.  Some bracket or washer that needs a paint touch-up, a fastener you want to change to hex or allen or nyloc, a bundle of wires you want to tuck up here or tie wraps you want to change to a different color, etc. etc. etc.  You've done great work here, you're obviously someone who cares about the details. :)

What is that mounted to the frame by the seat? Shock reservoir?

Yeah I think it's the shock reservoir.  If you look close you can see the hose.

Congrats on the wrap-up of the rebuild of Little Horse...I'm sure your sister will love it and enjoy it.  Looks even better than before.

Been riding and breaking things. Latest to go was the gas lid catch I machined a new assembly and this is what it looks like.

LH, I agree.  Show us what's up in that shop of yours!

As you can tell by now, I didn't make it to Portland in July.  Got as far north as Newport before my dad and I headed across toward Bend.  Next year's trip is Alaska, and we plan on spending a week or so in the PNW.  I'll find you then!

Hope you're well.  The FB updates look like you're very busy with customer work - glad to see it!

So in the last two weeks, I moved in to a new place, the guy running the metal shop with me quit out of no where, and its never been busier for me with both the companies I run. So yeah not even any time left for me to think about my own projects. Although my superhawk did get a little love, I put my dented stubs exhaust back on found a vacuum leak too so now its all fixed I should get my MPG's back for the commuting. I have 7 motorcycles right now and I am trying to convince the wife to let me use the new garage as the first official home of "Little Horse Cycles." She keeps asking me where she will park and I keep telling her outside :)

LH,
Just found your thread - beautiful work on both bikes.  I was in OR earlier this summer; bummed I hadn't read this before I went, as it would have been nice to see the bikes in person and meet such a fine craftsman.  Best of luck w/the new place!

Cheers,

Just excited and had to share.

The bike I built for my sister was selected as one of 40 custom motorcycles to be displayed at the international motorcycle show in Seattle this weekend. The selected bikes are picked because they are local and display unique and creative design elements. Needless to say it is an honor and a privilege so this is my way of saying a little thank you to the guys at Soundrider for putting this on.

If any of you guys are going to the show maybe I will run into you.

You can get details and see a picture of my sister's bike on the front page of
