Original 1970 cb350, bargain?
« on: January 23, 2010, 09:23:54 AM »
I came across a 1970 CB350 with 3000 original miles in apparently excellent all original condition for sale or trade. He's asking $1k or he's willing to take my winter beater as trade. I was just trying to gauge the value of the bike. I don't really need it since I have a 76 and 78 cb750s AND a 63 Honda trail 55 in the garage (ok maybe i do need it seeing as i have no 350s  ;) ) but if this is a bargain i'd be willing to part with my winter beater and get some salt on my RS6 this year. Here's a couple bad pics, i might have to just go and check it out...

You could use the NADA vintage bike pguide maybe to guage value but I think that's about right.  An excellent condition CB175 was around $1000 I think when I looked....

i pickedup two CB350s recently, both were purchased non running in decent shape for under $500 each. I'd say $1k is a correct asking price for a CB350 in good condition. a bargin? I'd say anything under $900 would be a bargin if the bike is running perfect and the tank/side covers are in good shape. i looks like the original exhaust was replaced with shorty mufflers... maybe you could use that as a bargaining tool and get the dude to lower the price. overall good find.

The VJEMC price guide I think is a bit high, but it lists that bike mint for $2,900. Junk at $600 and the mid range at $1,700. His price seems to be there as long as he has a title. Heck, for a bit more than that I know where there is a restored CM400 with all new chrome... ;D

I seem to have missed that one on CL. Could be an okay buy, but I would try to get him lower. Certainly make sure it has a title and that the numbers on the title and the bike match. Those small pictures on CL can be decieving, and some people have different deffinitions of "good condition". Go check the bike out and let us know how it goes.
