Is there a preferred model stock carb?

I was told recently that the carbs on my '76 CB750F are smaller than some of the stock K's. Is this bad? Bigger's better right ;)

So aside from the high'zoot stuff out there, did Mr. Honda have one that worked best?

"Somebody" was telling you lies mate, all the K1-K6 and F/F1 carbs are 28mm and apart from some slight changes, were pretty much the same. The F2/F3 carb (and K7/K8) is a different style of carb with accellerator pumps, and work real well on the other engines too.

I had a set on a K2 engine in my K1 "Kruiser" a few years ago, and I could tell the difference right away, better accelleration and no "flat spots" that the old K and F carbs are famous for.

If you want to use F2/F3/K7/K8 carbs on your bike you'll need to buy the carbs, choke cable and knob, air box (larger inlet holes than yours) throttle cables, and K7/K8 inlet rubbers to adapt the carbs to your head. A bit of stuff to buy, but still much cheaper than CR race carbs, and easier to set up. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Thanks for the input Terry. I see that there is another current thread asking the same question. I apologize, I did a "best carb" search and didn't come up with anything.

Oh well. Thanks again.

Another consideration for some apps;
 The late carbs require less clearance above them, in fact none above the carb tops, while early ones do.  This means if you are modding frame rails, or changing tanks, it will be easier with the late carbs..
