Will the center stand allow disassembly?

Will the centerstand support the bike enough to remove the rear wheel?

Tip: Put a 1/2 -1 inch block of wood under each leg of the stand. Helps elevate the bike a little to get the wheel out easier. Chock the front wheel with a brick or something heavy, just to be safe, so the whole show doesn't roll forward. ^^

Yeah, but you do risk it getting bumped and moving forward. If that happens, the center stand could spring back up and then you have a frame on the ground. I just used a milk crate with padding on the top.

Point taken. But if you chock the front wheel, it shouldn't roll forward, unless you're heavy handed with the rear wheel removal. Fours are pretty well balanced. ^^ But if you're really nervous, put something heavy on the back of centre stand legs and she won't pop up. Have fun!

And zip-tying the front brake lever might be a good idea too.

Had my 75 550 from new and have always done my own maintenance and tire changes.  Every time it was done on the center stand.  I have put a 2x6 under the stand to get a little more elevation but it makes it harder to get up on the stand.  Just more lifting.  I have never had an issue with stability.
