Looking at the carb rack on my CB350F I see that the butterfly valves each have a number - either a 1 or a 2.  The spare rack I have also has these numbers on the butterflies - but they are in carb different locations.

Are these numbers significant?  Do they designate the size for proper fitment to the carb body?  If I switch bodies, should I ensure the correct butterfly label is fitted?

Well, I finished changing one body on my rack and made sure the same butterfly was installed in the replaced body as it originally came with.  I compared the diameter measurements between a #1 and a #2 stamped valve, and they do seem to be of slightly different sizes.  Not much, but probably makes a difference if too large (i.e. could bind).
