The Dark Crystal

Call me a nerd, but I like this film a lot, there's not one bit of modern cgi in the whole film.
I admire the talent throughout the entire movie.

Funny I was thinking of this movie the other day.   Billy Crystal and one of the SNL girls played the old couple.  Henson did it didnt he?

Found this in the $5 walmart DVD bin.  The kids love it.  Saw it when I was younger and liked it a well.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Dark Crystal is permanently in my Netflix instant watch queue.  Same with Labyrinth.  I also kind of like Legend, even though it is Mr. Cruise.

Ya can't judge Tom Cruise on his earlier films, that's like looking wedding pictures and only thinking of the bad times.

I can't help it if his work and lifestyle in the past 15 years have put the taint o' the Cruise on everything he's ever done.

I grew up with the Muppets and anything Jim Henson or Frank Oz related....
The Dark Crystal
The Labyrinth
Fraggle Rock
The Storyteller...

Love all that stuff, I appreciate the amount of work that goes into making puppets and then using them with that kind of skill...it's more hands on and that's the way I learn/do things. CGI is cool and all but there is something to be said for the real deal....just like stop motion animation LOVE it!

Now I want to watch the Dark Crystal again!

Yep, Heavy Metal 2 with Julie Strain, wasn't totally horrible if you are properly medicated and in a stupid movie mood.
