looks like he suffered a massive heart attack yesterday. he was my favorite living author, i've read just about everything if not everything he's ever written. he will be greatly missed.

he wrote the "Spenser" books, also had another detective series. he was a writer in the style of Raymond Chandlers Marlowe.
