 8) If you've ever driven one, you'll understand.

AHHH! A Gran Prix! 8) Always like to see some of them! Nice example too! ;) Details, man, Details! ;D I feel in love with the 62' model, but have respect for the later ones as well. 8)

Only wish the one in the pics was mine. It's similar to several I had earlier in life. I envy those who've posted pics of their builds or just what they're proud of. It's always better when you can own and drive your favs.

well now that she is in my garage I guess I gotta post a pic to this thread...

Definitely a work in progress and not quite as good of shape as when this pic was taken but you'll get the point:

Ahhh! Very Nice start, Dennis. 8) It's always GOOD to have it right there with you. After I bought the GTX, it was about a week before I could go get it and I was a nervous wreck til I got it on MY driveway! ::) ;)

That IS a Fine Looking Galaxie! 8) When I was stationed at Hamilton AFB in California with my red 66' Dodge Charger w/383/4sp/posi, I had a Running Buddy who had a beautiful white 67' Galaxie 500XL w/ 390/4sp/posi. That car was really sharp AND would flat out RUN! 8) We never ran against each other, just against OTHERS! ;D

It was like THIS one, except white.

Oh Yeah, the old Porsche cars ARE something else. And the Lotus is cool as well, there is a Yellow one with black trim around here. While THOSE cars ARE something to behold, I'm kinda hung up on the Jag XKE myself and no way to afford one. I'm just tickled to death that I've managed to snag the old 69' GTX myself. Brings back alot of the OLD GOOD times, ya know? ;)

I KNOW they aren't as Stylish and all, but there was just something about the 914s that attracted my attention. I have always like the engine in that car and they also used the same basic engine in the 411 & the 412 Ws, along with the later VW Air cooled engined Buses. Seemed like a pretty healthy engine and to have it in the mid engined 914, seemed like it should be pretty peppy. Never have had the chance to drive one though. That might change my whole outlook.

Here is my 31 ford
1966 mustang eng,trans,brakes,rear end,speedway motors 2x3 boxed frame,suicide front end. Drives like a big go-cart!!

Really nice job. There's a lot of nice iron on this thread! I saw this earlier this week and thought it was the bees knees. I have a '76 4 speed Stingray and a '05 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 that I'm getting ready to modify a bit mechanically. When it gets nice enough here so that I can take them outside, I'll post a couple of photos.

Cool, we'll be looking! 8) Nice looking Volvo BTW! What was that Volvo that was made back in the 60's ( I think, maybe late 50's) that looked alot like a modified 40' Ford 2dr Sedan? I ALWAYS thouight that was cool and wondered about setting one up with a V8/4sp powertrain and suspension to match! ;D

I think the designer and fabricator is thinking of producing it in limited quantities under the name of Vox Volvo.

i wish i had a p1800 hs. those are really rare and when you DO find one 99 times out of 100 the owner wont part with it. best looking volvo ever built with the exception of the volvo 122.

sorry for the tiny pic

Hey Mick, sounds good! I don't know that much about the Australian cars, enlighten me. :)

Hi Bill, well its a GM with an Aussie made 5 litre V8, very good engines, they were basically a race car homoligated for the street. They were the size of your average 4 cylinder car and, well mine had over 400HP, when set up well they were like a high powered go cart, heaps of fun to drive...

I just noticed that one says "8000" so it has a 8 litre engine transplant.....scary fun. The car was called the Holden SLR5000 Torana. Have a look on google, there's plenty of pics and info there..

Cheers...Mick
