the wheels on that cricket are identical to the ones that were on my 72 v-6 Capri my second favorite car i ever owned.

. But the Ultimate, Hemi w/ a 6-71 and the rest of the package to make it somewhat streetable, is WAY out of MY pricerange (but, not out of my dreams :D )

That's it exactly Bill. Dreaming is cheap, buying and building is expensive. I've restored all mine 100 times over - all in my mind and all or free. Cheap on gas and insurance too. But the feel of pure torque is missing.

Yeah, dreaming is one thing, but THAT feel of pure torque is REALLY something that gets the heart to thumping! Like I can get INTO the feeling when I open up my 440 and yet, can only imagine the power of a HEMI (especially a blown one) that is opened up! 8) I've got a buddy who "built" the 360 in his 73' Cuda and THAT was one RUNNING small block! Now, IF that 65 Dart had something like that! I can only imagine! ;D His Cuda was pretty quiet, til you had the throttle!

One of MY dreams though (and the Ford folks are likely to come down on me for this), would be to be able to take a Cobra Kit Car and built it with a built 426 (or what ever C.I.) Hemi in there. Kinda got that idea, after I saw a Pantera in a magazine once, that Carroll Shelby took one and dropped in a twinturbo charged 340 Dodge engine into and even put a Pentastar emblem on the front of the car. Never heard anything or saw anything about the car afterward.

Here's one I had when I was 20. 1957 Ford Ranch Wagon.   Kept it till I was around 30 then sold it to my younger brother.  Stupid me. ::)  He still has it and it looks the same.  Has  351C with an automatic.

Now THAT is one SHARP looking Ford there! 8) ;)

This is a recent shot of my Dad's 51 Ford.  He has been working on this car for 7 years now.  It is very original and has the flathead V-8 engine, a reproduction of the original interior, fender skirts, and chrome side pipes.  He just put a continental tire kit on the rear after this photos was taken.  I need to help him rewire it this summer and it should be finished.  He has made it identical to the car he had when they first met.  My mom was a car hop at the local A&W the drive in.

Now THAT's COOL! 8) AND thanks for posting it. IF I had the bucks, I'd get a couple of '69 road runners and make them like what ours were like, when Brenda and I met. But, I couldn't afford ONE road runner, much less two! ::) The GTX I now have, is the closest I can come and IT has features of Both of our cars. Really cool that your Dad CAn and IS doing that too! ;) MY Mom was a car hop as well, but my Dad's wheels was an old Indian motorcycle back then. ;D ;)

I've got 7 Mopars and a Buick that was my father's in my garage right now. Most need total restos, but not all. Here's the current lineup.

1968 Dart GTS 383 auto 3.23. It needs a total resto. It will go 440 when done. The numbers matching 383 will reside under a bench.

1969 Super Bee, originally 383 auto 3.23 bench seat/column shift. I've had probably 25-30 hi-po Mopars over the years and the Bee is the only column shift/ bench seat I've ever had. So it'll stay like that. I do have a warmed 440 ready to go into it.

1969 road runner coupe 383 4 speed 3.23. Needs total resto. Will be 440 when on the road again.

1969 road runner hardtop. 496 (4.15 crank in a 440) 6bbl (6pack in Dodge vernacular), 4 speed 3.91.  4.15 stroke crank, polished stock rods, Ross lightweight pistons. Ported 452 heads, 2.14 intake 1.81 exhaust, gasket matched 6bbl intake and headers. Still running the vacuum  secondarys in reworked Holleys.

1969 Charger R/T 440 auto 3.55. Warmed over 440, quicky resto to get it on the road as a putt putt. 9.75:1 heavy as lead TRW slugs on 6bbl rods, ported 452 heads 2.14 intake, stock 1.74 exhaust, opened up stock intake (not for 1969) and exhaust manifolds, reworked Thermoquad for that huge kick in the a$$ when the manhole sized secondarys open up.

1971 'cuda hardtop 383 auto 3.23. Needs total resto

1971 'cuda convertible 383 auto 3.55. Needs total resto. Will be a 472 hemi when it hits the road again.

And the oddball in the group. A 1969 Wildcat convertible. 430 auto 3.08. Was my father's who bought it new and was passed to me when he passed on.

A couple shots taken a few years ago.

And the mess that resides inside - there's 2 1971 'cudas, 1969 Super Bee, 1968 GTS and the hardtop runner in there.

Always like to see those photos Mike AND wondered about the Wildcat Convertible and how it fit in. that '69 road runner sure rings MY bell! Makes me think about how I met Brenda (my wife) and what THAT led to. ;)

(hope you all don't mind my dragging out my 3 memory photos) :)

And the meeting of these two cars, resulted in:

i wish to hell i knew who and what laid 2 rubber stripes each about 14 inches wide and parallel with chunks of asphalt missing at the beginning. these stripes go past 3 yards, at least 250 feet long. must have been during one of my naps today, i never usually miss something like that happening. i know it didnt come from my house, the tires on the saturn are 175/70/14's and even IF it could spin the tires these marks were about 4x as wide. bet it made a hell of alot of noise too, must have been when i finally crashed after being awake since thursday (damn prednisone)  ;D

Just that one, I had had a flat on the way to the Church. ::) But, I wasn't gonna miss the opportunity of being Married to that Wonderful Gal! Guess you could say I was "DETERMINED"! ;D I hated that I had the flat, just glad I got it taken care of, without dirtying up my suit! ;)
So, on my wedding day, one of the ET UniLug wheels, was in my trunk!
I was running real close to being late too, but I made it! ;)

i'm in love with that wildcat. the buick wildcat is one of my all time favourite cars.

It was my father's. He ordered it in the fall of 1968. He always wanted a Buick. And he wanted it ordered with a 4 speed and buckets. Unfortunately for him the Wildcat couldn't be had with a floor stick. So bench/auto it had to be. He didn't want to load it up with weighty options - in the early 60's he was a Tin Indian fan and he had a '60 389 tri-power Bonnie and a '62 Catalina Super Duty 421. GM went on strike in the winter of that year and it took a long time to get built. Its got a 430 and once underway the thing will haul pretty well for a big old boat. It went across continent in 1969 and again in 1970. After that it became the toy and he only really used it to go to the golf course. Utilitarian vehicles handled the mundane day to day stuff. I think in the last 10 years he was alive he only put 1200 miles on it or so.

This thing still wears all its original paint. Only plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap and button, tires, battery, oil, filter, tranny fluid, rear end fluid aren't factory installed. There was a scratch on the driver's door when it was unloaded from the train car and the dealer offered to fix it, but he wouldn't allow it. Something about "Local butchers couldn't match crap!" or something along those lines.

Cool Wildcat Mike, ALSO that it was your Dad's AND that YOU now have it in YOUR care! My Dad wasn't that much on cars and all of his bikes have been long gone for years! Closest I can come to one he had, is to get the old Jawa 250 I have, fixed up like the one he built (He DOES have fond memories of THAT one! ;)

Anyone here own a 1960-70's Lincoln Continental with suicide doors.  Those were my favorite car.  As well, a 1960-70's Ford Galaxie four door.  Land yacht, but I loved it!  Post some pics if you have them.

Well it looks like this thread hasn't seen too much action for awhile. But since Seabass saw fit to bring it back I'll add my two cents to the pile. This is a T bucket that I bought about half finished. It didn't run and had no floor in the body. I changed directions with it and turned it into an old style track roadster. This all took place in the eighties and then I sold it around 1990. I sure wish I knew where it might be today.

Bill440cars: Thanks for the nice words about my old roadster.
I had this Corvette for a few years and did a little restoration work on it. I sold it in 2009 and now it is cruising the streets of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Nice one Bob!  I keep telling my pop that when I'm rich some day, I'll buy him one of those (was his dream car for years).

I'm noticing a theme with that color ;)
