From a Sandcast if I'm not wrong

I wonder how many people would ride their sandcasts in the dirt today....

That was enjoyable. I wonder if he ever got another? I also wonder what happened to that exact bike after he sold it to his friend? Interesting short story there.

That's a real cool piece of history.  I was expecting to read that he tracked it down after he sold it and bought it back.

that's awesome!

my dad had a 79 cb, and he used to do hill climbs with his friends on their 400's and 550's down by the Trinity river on some of the old embankments.  said he could out power damn near anything up there, at least anything in street form.  either way, the cb guys back in the day were crazy with their bikes!  but a true testament to how well these old girls hold up!!!  i can't wait to get mine on the road again!!!

That brings back memories, when I was in San Diego in 1970 there was a subdivision being built on the side of a hill where the roads were going up the hill and around it. We would start at the bottom and at the intersections we would get airborn.I was on my 70 CB 750 and a shipmate on a 69 CB750. WE also did some dirt riding on our bikes, got a nice dent in the bottom of one of my pipes doing that. As the old saying goes if I knew then what I know now.

I followed a dirt bike up a hill once,  :o   with a windjammer on too. Yes, I was one of those guys. 74 cb750, jammer, crash bar, luggage rack with a big old back rest, hooker header with a juice can for a baffle. Alcohol may have ben involved.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

I looked up the frame number on the sancast only registry but it wasn't one listed.
