« on: January 10, 2010, 05:22:51 PM »
just wondering if these little bikes are worth anything... i have a chance to pick one up for pretty cheap.

Is it worth picking it up?

i picked one up for my girlfriend last fall. as soon as she rode it around, all my buddy's girlfriends wanted one. i think they are cool little bikes. i'm 6'3" and that thing is a blast to ride up to the store. obviously it depends on the condition. i feel like alot of them have been beat on and rode hard just cause of how small they are. the transmission was messed up on the one we got, so i had to track down a parts bike. they are super easy to work on. i pulled the engine with one hand. if it's in good shape, i say grab it.

i picked up a cb125 for 40 bucks and got it running for 30, it carried me and my old lady to dairy queen daily last summer for ice cream dates.  wehave two badass single seat cafe's but riding two up on its stock seat put a way bigger smile on our faces(rampant giggling in fact)than i ever have been on my bike by myself. man, we had so much fun on that thing..........

oh right, your question.  ;D
i bet if you get it running and flip it you could sell it for profit for sure.  there is always someone willing to pay a premium for something. get it already!

Sorry for the misplacement of the thread.

I believe the bike will not be bought due to the fact that the owner is a "tool-bag." Very short in response and completely unwilling to work with a potential buyer which is very interesting to me as i have sold various motorized things in my life....

I've bought them for $100.00 to $500.00 depending on condition... One that has low miles and is SUPER clean..

Sell easy for $1500.00 to $1700.00 I've done it a number of times. You'll find some guy who is 45 plus who had one back in the day and he just wants to relive old memories.

When I say super clean I mean you disassemble the wheels polish the hubs, and relace the wheels etc....

I actually paid $600.00 for one, but is was super fantastic day 1 orginal. Sold it for $1800.00

A friend gave me a 175, I tried to buy it but he insisted he was going to give it to me. That was last year. I think his better half put the whammy on him. I would have rather paid for it and auctually ended up getting it.
