People find ways to do what they love.  I met a gent this summer who (somehow?) lost his legs below the knees.  He rode a harley bagger with a side car and full hand controls.

When I'm little and old, I might do the same thing, too.

Yeah, here, there is a fellow in his 50's, I'm guessing, who rides a nice looking yellow Harley with a matching side car. He works as a mechanic at the local H-D dealership and had an accident that left him nearly paralyzed in his legs. So, he added the sidecar that he modified to actually carry his wheelchair. He comes outside in his wheelchair, rolls up the ramp, raises the ramp with a lever (that is connected with linkage), ties the chair down, moves himself over to the seat of the bike, puts his helmet on and rides on down the road. He still goes to work at the dealership, every weekday and in any kind of weather. I've seen him at WalMart doing his shopping too! His wheel chair doesn't have a back to it, just the lower part. When he gets where he is going, he parks the bike, moves over to the wheelchair, removes the helmet and puts it in the small trunk on the back of his bike, releases the wheelchair, lowers the ramp and off he goes. He's worked things out so that he can pretty much come and go as he pleases and does it quite well. 8) ;) Good to know that the dealership works with him on this.

I know eventually I'll be headed there...I dislocated my hip at the age of thirteen and until the age of 36 couldn't ride due to my hip socket becoming fused as the years went by. So finally I got my hip replaced at age 36 and it was supposed to be good for 10-15 years. Hah! I was back in the hospital last December (after only 7 years) having it done a second time!
Anyway....it has given me the ability to ride again but my leg isn't as strong as it should be and sometimes things can kinda lock up in pain at times when I don't have the oppurtunity to pull off and relax it. So yeah, I can see a trike in my future, it may be the only way I can continue to enjoy my love of motorcycling. 8) :)

I like my women a little big. Natural. Now, they shave this and wax that. It's not right. I love natural women. Big women. This trend in women has to go. Bulomia, anorexia. That's just wrong. You know what will cure that? My special sticky buns. One lick of my sticky buns and your appetite will come right back. ~ RIP Mr. Borgnine  01/24/1917 - 07/08/2012  :'(
