OK I have a couple hundred miles on it and my first impressions are that (1) it's really smooth, (2) quick starting with great idle, (3) great throttle response and finally (4) it runs like a brand new bike, reminds me of my first 750. I'm really liking it but I'm still working on the breakin. "I need to get another one of these" comes to mind but I think Hondaman is pretty backed up.

As far as pictures go, it looks like any motor from the outside.

Per his website, $500 plus parts and machine work.
Also am curious on bottom line pricing but respect if you don't want to disclose.

I take it they are an exclusive CB750 shop?
Anyone know of such a shop that deals with engine rebuilds for CB550's?

No, Hondaman does all kinds of SOHC stuff and non SOHC stuff too so he will do 550s I'm sure. Shoot him an email. He's on this site quite a bit too.

So does his shop suggest that it's an exclusive CB750 shop?  I'll change the home page so it's more generic.

Myles are you running the #120 main jets in the carbs.? Any other carb tweaking or tips on that end you can pass along. Also what sprocket size are you using,17 or 18 front ?    Eric

Eric,
No, I dropped from #120 to #115 to start as was suggested but haven't done anything else with jet size yet. Typically I run 120s in the K1s.
Front sprocket is now 17 from 18 and chain is diamond and rear tire is stock.
Beyond that carb overflow goes to air filter and float level at 24mm .
Not broken in yet so I'm still babying it.

Carb overflow goes to the airbox ?   'splain please -    Not the ones off the bowls ?      What's the benefit of that ?  Thanks.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.
