Hush, Here's A Little Brother To Your Bike!
« on: January 27, 2010, 04:09:14 AM »

Was on the 305 forum this morning and found this bike that I'm sure Hush (and others) will appreciate. 8) Meet the Super Hawk of the Police Bikes! ;)

I don't know, but for a little while, the 305 was the BIG bike for Honda. :)

My folks bought me a new 67 CL160 age 14 as I recall it cost $620.00
The CL77 300 was exactly $100.00 higher my father said later biggest mistake he had made in a long time not getting the 300 for the difference in  price.

Long time friend of mine the one I bought my CL77 from in the early eighties, he has believe its a 65 model 305 superhawk.

I noticed in another thred you were condidering painting your superhawk
engine black, what you have there are not a lot of them out there running around, have you considered painting the engine black just makes it look like any other common day modern bike. how about what they did in the sixties to them just some chrome tappit covers, a little chrome other places on the engine. Just a thought if you like the black if nothing else its only paint can be taken back off.

Well, I'm not locked in on that, I was just thinking about how well I like the way my buddy did the engine on the CBX (that I bought from him) and thought maybe the Super Hawk Cafe Style Build would look good with the engine done the same way. (black engine w/ some of the covers polished and maybe the edges of the cylinder fins (and maybe the edges of the fins on the head as well) I don't want to do a lot of polishing and I don't want a painted engine that is silver or gray either. I'm STILL looking for ideas in the way of photos or comments too! I'm not necessarily going for a modern look nor do I want a standard total Super Hawk look either. As it stands now, I'm using the Super Hawk gas tank & fenders (complete with the Super Hawk rear mudflap). I'm Not using the side covers, mufflers or instruments or headlight (Cb350 gauges and headlight). Not sure about the taillight (maybe stock OR maybe a Lucas Style). Not using Super Hawk Mufflers,  maybe use Super Hawk OR CL exhaust pipes with megaphones (maybe) I WILL be using Super Hawk Drum brakes (not Discs) and a custom seat. Foot pegs will be Super Hawk folding pegs mounted to the rear position of the standard Super Hawk aluminum mounts. Also, Super Hawk low Handle bars will be used with a pair of what I think they call "Power Levers?" That's about all I can think of at the present.

Comments and suggestions are still welcome. ;)

Sounds good, guess i never really liked the black put on more modern motorcycle engines, never did like the looks of disc brakes on motorcycles from the first one I saw no doubt there better its just a looks thing for me.

That's fine Bucky but I really really want one of these!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
