Author Topic: Where to buy Dunstall Half fairing? (Read 9737 times)

I have looked at AitTech and Glass from the past, but where else might I be able to find a Dunstal half fairing for my 750? I've been playing around with Photoimpression and think a Half fairing would look good on my bike. It would be an "after I get everything else done" kind of thing, but I like the picture mach up that I have.

i'd go with the airtech parts if it were mine. theyre pretty nicely made and the cr750 style seat i got from them took very little sanding before finishing. their prices are right too.

I've got a NOS Rickman and a NOS Egli half fairing, but no Dunstalls, sorry mate. I do have a NOS Dunstall body kit. Cheers, Terry.

I was thinking of this one from airtech:

AT only $210, it seems like a pretty good deal.

I wonder if it comes with the windscreen or if that's extra?

The front looks a tad "flat" mate, see if they do a repro 1970's Ducati 900SS fairing, they are very pretty, and will fit. Cheers, Terry.

Shipping these big items gets expensive though,

That Airtech RTF1 fairing is a copy of a '70s Read-Titan. It is missing the cool bubble over the headlight. Had one on my H2 back in the day.

You haven't got another Dunstall fibreglass seat base there have you Fishy? I've got a new old stock Dunstall Seat and mounting hardware that I bought hoping it'd fit my body kit, it almost does, but I'd nned to make a new base, and I'm too lazy.............

Make me an offer Andy, and don't go cheap on me mate, an Egli fairing is fibreglass porn, and guaranteed to make your bike go 25% faster, with a 50% increase in fuel economy. I can just picture the Grand Master, Fritz Egli himself, resplendant in his Lederhosen, working thru the night in his swiss chalet on top of a picturesque snow capped mountain top lovingly hand forming this fairing that has never seen duty on some one else's bike, so no crappy paint or decals, delaminating fibreglass, cracks, holes or stone chips.

Good thing is that it's very thin "race-glass" and weighs almost nothing, so even though it'll have to go into a pretty big box, the heaviest part will be the box, ha ha! Cheers, Terry.

No, I only have a few complete kits and none of them are for sale.

If you want the angular Dunstall fairing like Fishead and I have, you can get reproductions from glass from the past. I ordered the fairing sides for that fairing from him and got them no problem. This was about 1 year ago. Check out my Dunstall build http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=55860.0 I got my fairing and seat from ebay. It took quite a while to find the stuff, but I also got them very cheap. Alot of people don't like the Dunstall stuff for the CB750 because it is big and angular rather than small and rounded. this is the ducati 900ss fairing GFTP offers... i really wish the headlight hole was like the 7" version airtech offers... the clean cut, like airtech's 8," vibrates against the headlight bucket at high speeds.

Yeah, I guess it more the rounded Ducati style that I like Versus the angular Dunstall. (guess I should change the title of the thread, huh?)
