What the heck is this?? Is it a Euro??

My Tennessean education didn't teach me about money signs.. ::)

For the european countries that joined and eliminated their own currencies and went with a new one called the EURO. Today, the EURO is worth about $1.40 US.....But what I saw on that web site was UK pounds which are at $1.61 US

not sure about that....got part of mine in lebanon, tenn. and i was just in knoxville on sunday and hickory, nc on tues.....us southern boys still got it....

£ = Pound Sterling aka British Pound aka GBP aka quid.

€ = Euro.

Exactly how did GB sidestep adopting the Euro?
