Do I have a Standard Camshaft ???
« on: January 11, 2006, 02:46:33 AM »
Just a brief question, which is beyond me.

When I first got my rebuilder, I got the impression from the nice noise coming from the exhaust that it may have had some work done on the motor, maybe its speculation, but anyway motor is out, rocker cover off, and was wondering if anyone can let me know how to identify if my camshaft is standard or otherwise??

Engine is cb750K6 -
Camshaft is Stamped - "R9"
Is this original or standard issue?

There are some other markings, but I didn't have my specs on today. if these will help let me know.

All answers appreciated. thanks

The engine from my 1978 750F3 Supersport is in pieces on the bench. The camshaft is marked R2 beside the sprocket flanges. I believe it is stock. A piece of info, not the definitive answer you're looking for...
