Topic: Denver motorcycle show & swap

at the National Western Complex this weekend in Denver, Colorado.  Has anyone been?  Is it all overplayed and tacky OCC style choppers and Harleys or is there classic bikes as well?

I haven't been in about 2 years but back then there was a nice mix of show bikes and daily riders, great swap meet, obviously the eariler you get there the better. I saw that this year it is being put on by Sun so I don't know if has changed, the last time I went it was a Hawg Wild affair. The swap meet took up far more space back then but again I don't know now, sorry. If you go, reply to this with a few words if you could, I'll be out of town again but there is another one coming up in the Springs maybe the second week of Feb.

Went several years ago and was unimpressed.   Might go but dought it.  $ is tight.

The couple of times I went the show was tiny but the swap meet took up a buch of space. Even if I were in town, I might not go, no cash either, don't need to find something and know I can't afford it.

The Denver show has much to check out. Plan on an all-day affair! Glad you mentioned it as they don't advertise it here in the Springs. Many "swap meet" junk booths, many booths selling new stuff and after market stuff, leathers, beer booths, bikes both show and custom, old bikes new bikes, some SOHC bikes on display but not much in the way of parts unless Uriah has a booth with a few items. V twin dominated. Fun way to spend the day if you're not skiing. I haven't left with anything but had a nice day looking. It's nothing like the BIG custom bike shows in other areas.

As far as the Springs show goes, don't drive from Denver for it unless you have nothing else to do!

That's good to know about the Springs show, I wish there were more of these anywhere around here. I had never been to the Springs event and found out about it while looking this one up. I won't have any money for what I would be interested in by then so maybe I'll even save some gas money.

Cars, bikes, and tattoo contest. MUCH smaller in size and scope than Denver. The building is a little over 100,000 ft. You could probably put 10 into the Denver building.

Fresh back from the Denver show, Not sure why I keep on going, Something to do I guess, Mostly Pins,Stickers,Patches &  Rusted old HD crap I wouldnt' use if i owned one... 1 "72 Cb750" mix & match (w/brake fluid corruption on tank & cracked side cover) 2 Girdered 750 choppers, each @ 10' long. a couple XS 650 Bobber/choppers, @ a half dozen 650 Triumphs (mostly @ 80% done). 1 very nice Vincent, a "vetter" Triumph triple.... On  high note, There was a @ '81 KZ 1000 in the parking lot which must be the most brutaly scary mix I've seen. Shifter had h/bar welded to it, w/cl/lever assy attached, throttle & switch  where they belonged, but affixed w/electrical tape. Ach G
