I got my Hondaman book last night and WOW!! Simply amazing! If anyone is in doubt this is a MUST HAVE for any CB750 rider. Waaaay better than the Haynes/Clymer and even the shop manual. Photo quality is excellent and the info is first rate. A lot of work has gone into this and it shows!! Outstanding!!

Here is mine..

Look at those crisp COLOUR photos!

And I got my rebuilt swingarm with it  as well (with fool-proof instructions  ;)) I cant wait to try this out!! Garage time today  ;D

Thanks Hondaman for both of these services!

Andy

Got both of mine but directly from him when I was in Colorado for a skiing sabbatical.
I'll probably be preparing the swingarm for sanding and painting this weekend when I get the time and the bushings I ordered in.

Thanks again Mark and 285 was the better route to take to South Fork than I-25.

Well, except for the fact that the snow got so bad and heavy past Poncho Springs I couldn't tell where I was on the road- the lollipops on the road edge were my only guide for about 40 miles, that was crazy.  :o

For other Canadians ordering Mark's book from Lulu:

I just ordered it and was surprised to find that I was charged by Lulu another $5 as Canadian Sales Tax!

I asked them about it but have not heard back.

This is not Mark's problem, but as far as I know, doing business with American suppliers from Canada does not obligate me to pay Canadian sales taxes to the supplier?

Occasionally if my items are "inspected" by Canadian Border Services and I am assessed charges on the value (usually for higher value things) I will get a hit for sales tax and "processing". If that happens this time, I'll be paying twice.

Wow, that stinks! Does it make sense to get one from me instead? The shipping is about $14, still not cheap. I keep a few here because of the folks wanting signatures.  ???

If I can help, glad to...

No sweat Mark. It's ordered. Their shipping to here is pretty good, only about $7. But I should have got one with your signature!

I didn't think that this American company should be collecting a Canadian tax. We pay enough already. I've asked them and won't let them go till I get an answer I like, or a refund of the "tax".

I'm really looking forward to getting your book.

Thanks

I have had my copy of Hondaman's book for 24 hours now, and there have been a few developments:

  • I will likely be fired from my job for reading this book all day at my desk
  • I will likely be single soon, despite showing my wife Hondaman's praise for his wife's patience in the introduction several times.
  • I must add some extra time to my build effort to include the myriad of "little" things included in the book that I was not aware of or did not know how to do (rocker shafts, for instance).

This is hands-down the best bike book I have ever owned (or seen!), and is a steal; don't let the price deter you from getting it. You should order it, sort of now-ish.

Without A Doubt,

Hands down (and skinned knuckles up) the best motorcycle maintenance/repair/mod
book I have ever seen.

I bought a signed hardback and I am ecstatic.  What a great book!

Thanks, Vorhese!
I'm sorry about your tank. That kind of thing makes my heart sink. What a great specimen you have! Did you buy the whole Titan? That sure is a nice one. I remember them well: they were my racing nemesis with their 420-lb weight and 50 real HP on the ground. If they showed up at the same track I was running, I knew I would be placing behind them because of the 500-lb 750, 70+ HP not withstanding. They were fun to ride, very torquey (if smokey!).

I actually met vorhese once. at a car show, for about 2 minutes.

I just got the book. reading it cover to cover. only on the 1st chapter, but it's amazing. so much useful info. more than I hoped for. the pics are great. I have the Haynes and the Clymer and have been rebuilding my engine trying to figure out stuff based on the half assed info. Haynes has more info and clymer more correct info, from what I can tell. but both books are lacking and just skip over stuff. your book has already answered a few questions I had. and great tips! like removing the 'troublesome flange' to aid getting the engine back in. no one else would've told me to do that. unless they were a 750 expert, and those are hard to come by. I now have an experts advice in book form. even the intro is inspiring! thanks so much for passing this on.

I hope you make some dough out of this as this book represents many, many years of experience besides the time taken to write it. if all things were fair you would get a few years worth of a normal-job salary out of it.

thanks again, this means a lot to all the guys who are too young and not lucky enough to have the experience you do.

Thanks, Josh!
My secret plan is to get all those young wrenchers out on their 750s so we can take over the streets again.  ;D ;D ;D

Someday I have to get a DVD burner so I can put all those pictures on it for those who think the standard pictures are too small (like I do!). It's great when you can put them up on the screen on a cold winter's day and see exactly what you're gonna do on that first warm-enough day in the garage. The extra detail is terrific! :D

Just ordered MY VERY OWN hondaman manual! Hardcover of course with rush shipping. I'm excited to see how much better these are than the clymers. I'd like the personal tips and proffesional advice without having to pay some proffeser to teach me how 'a motor works'. I've got two 750's now and never thought I would have more than one cycle nevermind two 750's! Super excited!
