I've purchased a buffing and polishing kit and for whatever reason I cannot get the compound onto the buffing wheels..are the blocks of compound supposed to be as hard as rocks?

Anyone use buffing compound ?
I have no idea if the bars are supposed to be soft and malleable or as hard as a rock...

Yes, the blocks should be hard, but will become pliable after being heated up via friction when you apply them to the polishing wheel bonnet.

Yeah, so just crank up the buffing wheel, and very firmly apply the compound until you can see it on the buffing wheel. If you're using a white bonnet, it should turn red, or grey, or whatever color depending on the color of the buffing compound.
