Think about the costs of "cap & trade" and the buyoffs we would have to pay China and India to adopt the "green" initiatives.

So, they went to Copenhagen, lived high on the hog, and then they sold our futures to India and China.

i know we've all heard about the 400 dollar toilet seat and the 1000 dollar hammers right? i worked for the department of defense for MWR on an army base. they would NOT let us go off post to buy stuff like toilet paper. at sams club say a 24 pack of TP costs 10 dollars, the on post supplier we had to use would cost around 30 for the same thing. i always had heard that the way the government did screwy things but i had no damn idea until i became a government employee. they wouldnt let us do the oil changes on the vehicles the rec area i worked at used, we had to go to the on post shop and pay them to have it done, thing is they would only let us get oil changes done every 6 months because it cost so much, about 5x as much as it cost me to do it myself, thats why at 15k miles the brand new dodge crewcab pickup blew it's motor, oil changes every 10,000 miles.

Right, but they want to do away with "no-bid contracts". So, the only way to get TP is through competitive bidding. Of course, the vendor only goes as low as they need to go to win the bid, and lock in the government customer. If there's only one bidder, then the bid isn't very low, huh?

This is the same reason Medicare pays an average of 6 times as much for the same medicine as private insurers.

I'm speechless from being spitting mad. Not that we didn't know; but it is more angering when you actually see the paperwork.

One thing I noticed. Spouses went on this trip. Why the hell am I paying for dead weight to go on a gov't trip?! When my wife goes on business travel like a conference, you can be damn sure I have to pay my own way to accompany her. Let's start with those folks paying us back for the spouses' travel and expenses. That's completely uncalled for.

I know I'm very lucky that my company could even afford a Christmas party this year. They sure as hell made a point of stating EMPLOYEES ONLY - NO SPOUSES. Hell, they wouldn't even buy a $5 plate of food at the buffet for my date, let alone fly my family to Denmark and put them up in the Marriott!!!

Of all the business trips I've gone on (plenty), I have NEVER, EVER BEEN ABLE TO BRING MY FAMILY. What would be the point, anyway? I was supposed to be WORKING!!!!

Can you believe how ANGRY Jack Cafferty is at Nancy Pelosi in that clip from CNN?!?! He actually said, "what a horrible woman she is!" on the air!!! HOLY COW!!!

They should be paid what they're worth! Performance based. Here in MI they would be getting minimum wage. And you know, with technology as good as it is, do they really "need" to go anywhere for a conference? Could they do video conf.?

I don't know about where you guys work, but where I work, I have to get the boss to sign off on my business expenses before they are re-imbursed.

Perhaps there needs to be some pressure applied to see who signed off on these pin-heads' travel expenses for their children and wives.

After all, they can't just go writing checks to themselves signed by "Uncle Sam", can they?
