Well, I disassembled my tach and speedo yesteday. My speedo needle works great but the mileage just kind of moved freely while I ride. After taking a look at the little plastic gears inside the speedo, it was pretty obvious why; several gears have been stripped and it's beyond repair. Is it possible to find these gears to replace or should I just look for another 550 speedo?
If I need to replace it, anyone have one lying around? It can be ugly, as long as it works.
