Tricky title question.
« on: February 02, 2010, 04:00:39 PM »
So has anyone here ever titled a vehicle that had no title? Long story short, I have a bike with no title, but Im working on a custom frame for it. In PA theres a form you can fill out to apply for a new VIN and title from the DOT.  Ill make the bike street legal, and it will pass inspection... Just wondering if anyone has ever done it. Its the same paperwork you need to file for a street legal homebuilt dune buggy or street rod. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
THIS BIKE KILLS FASCISTS!!!!

here in michigan all you need is the frame number
they run a check and if it comes back clean
they'll write you a new title

My older brother built a little Honda Twinstar from junkyard parts.  He was able to get an "Assembled From Parts" title here in FL as long as he produced receipts for the various major components.  He did, and they gave him a new VIN sticker for the machine and from then after, it wasn't a HOND, but an ASPT.  Strange but true.
