Could this be why my bike runs like #$%*? ('74 cb350f)
« on: February 03, 2010, 12:17:22 PM »
My coils tested fine, but when i tested tested the continuity of my spark plug caps, #1 and 4 gave a reading of around 19 (on the 20k ohm setting), and #2 and 3 didnt even register, displaying a read of "1"...

Think this could be it?

Yes. Unscrew caps and check if you get spark with HTleads within 5mm of engineblock. Measuring impedance from one cable end to the other it should be around 14 - 15 KOhm. Caps should read 5-10KOhm if they have built in resistors. When in doubt change for new caps. Cut just a little (1-2mm) bit of the cable ends and make sure caps screw in firm and tight. I resume: measuring from one coilcable to the other without caps: 14-15KOhm. Each cap 5-10KOhm. So and this is important: all should show continuity.
