Aprilia had a bunch (I think 4) of their RSV4's blow up during a magazine test. They assured the magazine guys that the failure was confined only to those bikes. Due to an outside contractor that made the connecting rods for those few bikes. Yeah, right.

I owned an SXV-550. It was an amazing bike, but grenaded two engines in under three years and 2700 miles. I was really hoping Aprilia learned a lesson from this bike. I guess not.
