Yes, that's an '80 CX500 next to me.

What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.

Battery moved up to the tail. Wires and electronics moved up horizontaly. Still need to wire in a few things so I'm waiting on doing the loom and wrap. Moved the ignition to the open space. The space seemed too useless without it.
i dont understand what the point of clearing that area out is if your not gonna get rid of the airbox? the bike looks great but would look real cool with some pods on it

As far as I've been told you have to rejet when running pods. So I'm all set on doing that until this winter. I just want to ride. I've only been doing mods that are possible while still being able to ride. Plus, guess how much that cost me to do then to buy a new cover which easily can get broken or stolen. I like the cleaned up look. I might return the smaller battery to that area but much higher with the electronics behind it. but leave the ignition key lower.

This is my 1974 CB 550 four. My brother gave it to me about 8 years ago. Only thing that doesn't work is the starter. Not sure why... think it has something to do with the fact I tried to jump start it with my truck oooops! I want to give it a face lift sometime this year, but not sure what I want to do. Any suggestions would be awesome. Bear in mind I am no mechanic. Gotta say though, I have learned alot from you all so far. Thanks!! Here are some pic. There will be more to follow.

Welcome Fester.

Jumping from a truck battery is not a problem unless you get the polarity wrong.  Wrong polarity will hit your rectifier first before you starter, causing the magic rectifier smoke to leak out.  So if she charges off her own alternator, then the truck jump did no harm.

the exhaust does sound pretty good. Youll hate me for saything this but it sounds like twice a harley. Unless I'm on it at speed and it sounds killer. People dont know what the hell just went by when they hear it. Ill have to stick my camera in my pocket and make a run. I dont have any hero cam mounts or anything. How do I post a video anyways?

Posting Videos:

You can upload a vid to PhotoBucket.com, then post the IMG link just like a picture.

Here's an example:

This got me thinking, I may be alone here however just in case.. If your using Linux and try and view a video hosted on Photobucket it will stall your browser, don't kill it.. It can take up to 5 min before the video will play, however it will play. The Linux dev's are aware of the problem and are working with Adobe to fix it. The problem is Photobuckets poor implementation of the flash player (I hate it when devs get lazy and don't follow standards) it will get fixed but for now just know it could take some time for the video to play. I know Windows and Mac don't have this issue, but they have ways of dealing with this sort of sloppy code, and I suspect that is what Linux will have to do as well.

The nice thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from.  ;D

I got it for 600 bucks, Id like to think that i got a good deal but after seeing some other posts of people getting bikes in far better condition for the same or less was kind of alittle upset but no worries Im on cloud nine just to finally find a bike and get it before someone else bought it.  ;D ;D
I have parts ordered already and will be posting as I strip it down and rebuild her.

Here is my 1973 CB750K, which is not running yet, but is cosmetically "finished". This was a few months ago, right now it is lying all over the garage.
