actually the idea came from Carpy.  in 2003 I looked on the internet to study some paint schemes and the barrels painted with the top cover polished jumps out at you right away.  the color matched fins were on one of carpy's bikes.  I have built two red K's and two stock F2's, one burgundy, and this black one.  The tank stripes copy the stock lines and are under several clear coats, with my signature red instead of the magenta from honda.

I've got one more red K on the bench before I am done.  eight years is long enough, time to move on to something else.

Thanks for your comments

The Grumpy cycle:

I've made a few changes (smaller tail light and front blinkers) since that was taken but it's the best pic I've got.

I don't know why, but I looked at that pic pondering what the side covers would look like if they were the same color as the tank...

Well they are the same color as the inside color of the tank. The tank was supposed to be painted more of a two tone scheme but my painter was an idiot

 From this

to this

This is the de-bug phase before it comes apart for finishing, it has an 836 kit I'm thinking candy blue green like the nos sidecover.

This is with K1 fork ears, fender, headlight bucket and gaiters.  Next, stock swing arm and short chain guard.
